Win scholarship money in APAHW’s 1st ever Essay Contest!
For 19 years, APAHW has united Asian Americans on campus and provided them with the opportunity to both celebrate and reflect on their cultural accomplishments. Students come together for this week every fall, and with them they bring their diverse backgrounds and open minds. They pursue cultural and political goals through a wide variety of activities. Similarly, UPAAN chapters host programs and events that unite Asian American alumni and open channels of communication between former undergraduates. The cultural organization ensures that alumni remain connected to the University and to Asian American students at Penn.
For the first time, the two groups are collaborating on an Essay Contest with a $250 First Place Prize and $100 Second Place Prize. Submissions to the contest should answer the question, “How have you redefined yourself as an Asian American?” and be a 500-1000 word work of prose. We ask that entrants do not submit college essays. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, October 5th, 2011 at 11:59PM. Please email submissions or any questions to board@apahw.org.
